Project Save the Cars: Terms
Last updated 15 October 2026
Project Save the Cars is run by Filament Lab, a 3D printing workshop in Bundaberg, QLD (filamentlab.com.au). By submitting a part, you agree to these terms.
1. Submitting a part
- Submitting is free. Send one part per submission. You can submit more than one part.
- The photos and details you send must be yours to share, and as accurate as you can make them.
- If you're under 18, get a parent or guardian's OK before you submit.
2. How parts are picked
- We choose which parts to make, at our discretion. Not every part gets picked, and we don't have to make any particular part.
- If your part is picked, we'll email you before we start. If we can't get hold of you, we may pick another part instead.
- Parts need to fit within 425 x 300 x 150 mm. A little over is sometimes OK.
- We don't make safety-critical parts, including anything for brakes, steering, suspension, seatbelts or airbags.
3. What's free and what isn't
- If your part is picked, we design and 3D-print it for you at no charge.
- Postage isn't free. You organise and pay for postage, including getting the finished part back to you.
- If we ask you to send in your original part so we can measure it, you send it at your own cost, and you pay for it to be posted back.
4. The printed part
- Parts are 3D-printed reproductions in engineering plastics. They are not genuine manufacturer parts and are not made or endorsed by any vehicle manufacturer.
- We design for a good fit, but you're responsible for checking the fit and for installing and using the part safely.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. Designs
- Filament Lab owns the 3D models, designs and files we create, including any we make from your submission. Sending a part in doesn't give you ownership of, or rights to, our designs.
- We may keep using those designs, including making the part for, and selling it to, other customers.
6. Your photos and details
- You keep ownership of your photos. You give us permission to use them to review your submission and to design and make your part.
- We'll only show your part, photos, first name or social handle in our videos and posts if you ticked the box to say that's OK.
- We handle your personal details as set out in our privacy policy, and use them to run Project Save the Cars and to contact you about your part.
7. Changes
- We may change these terms, or pause or end Project Save the Cars, at any time. The terms in place when you submitted apply to your submission.
